16. How about mentioning the solar projects at the schools in Pleasanton?
The following could be added as a new paragraph before the last paragraph in the Green Building
section:
"In addition. the Pleasanton Unified School District is partnering with Honeywell to install solar
panels on the roofs of seven schools in the District. These panels which are scheduled to be
installed by the end of 2007 will supply about 20 percent of the District's electrical needs Energy
from these panels will cost 25 percent less than energy from PG&E'"
17. How about mentioning the solar projects at the fairgrounds and the fact that they are selling excess
energy produced (IKV Rick Pickering knows the amount)?
The following could be added as a new paragraph after the new school paragraph in the Green
Building section:
`The Alameda County Fairground installed aphoto-voltaic (solar-power) system that~roduces
about 1.200 megawatt hours of electricity annually and provides about 50 percent of the electricity
consumed at the Fairgrounds. PG&E paid for half of the $4.6 million project "
Conservation Efforts:
18. Again in sentence two, is a comma needed before and?
Yes, it is the preferred punctuation.
19. Is this a good place to mention the partnership with Livermore again? We have paid taxpayer dollars
for a RFP, accepted a contrail and have the consultant developing a plan to increase solar projects in
the City, correil?
See response to item 14, above for new text that could be added to the Green Building Section.
20. Should we mention the green building ordinances for residential and commercial as an energy
conservation measure? Centex and the solar home project on Vineyard?
The text discusses the green building ordinance under Green Building, second paragraph. Staff did
not list all solar projects, of which Centex is but one of many.
Water and EneraY Conservation:
21. Is the footnote after pump water not #2?
It is footnote 2 not footnote "i" as previously used.
Green Bui/dina:
22. Paragraph 2, two much space between sentence 1 and beginning of sentence two.
Staff has used a standard of two spaces between each sentence. Because the document is justified the
two spaces sometimes looks longer. During formatting of the final document staff can finesse the
formatting by making the spaces look correct and not stretched out.
Larry Lagatta_ Director of Maintenance Operations and Transportation Pleasanton Unified School District (PUSD~,
Telephone convexsadon with Sally Maxwell Planner Pleasanton Planning Department Mav 10 2007
McGovern's Q~, Energy Element Q 5/25/2007
