In the first sentence, is a comma needed before ands <br />According to the Elements of Style by Strunk and White, "in a series of three or more terms with a <br />single conjunction, use a comma after each term. Thus write, red, white, and blue ..." This is the rule <br />staff has used throughout the General Plan. <br />Local Power Sources: <br />12. Should sentence two say something like, "Common uses" as a heating system is a use and I guess so <br />is a photovoltaic system. Neither seems to be a "form". <br />Staff suggests rewriting the second sentence of this section as follows: "Common €suses of solar <br />energy axe solar water heating systems .. . <br />13. I am not sure we want to say "a couple of solar water systems....". We might want to say, "Solar <br />water systems have been installed yearly typically to heat swimming pools etc." <br />Staff suggests rewriting the fourth sentence of this section as follows: "~4cerq~le-efsSolar water <br />heating systems are installed each year in Pleasanton, typically to heat pools" <br />14. It incorporates many green-building ideas including a photovoltaic <br />system that produces electrical energy. recycled and sustainable building materials and <br />landscaping that creates a more environmentally friendly system fox managing rainwater <br />"Green building is indicative of Pleasanton's efforts to plan for sustainability so that many <br />generations can enjoy a high quality of life.
