7.6 Administrative Leave <br /> In recognition that management employees are required to work hours beyond their regular <br /> hours of work to fulfill their management responsibilities, each management employee shall be <br /> credited with seven (7) days of administrative leave per year. The City Manager may grant up <br /> to three (3) additional administrative leave days per year in instances in which a management <br /> employee was required to devote substantially more time during the previous year to fulfill <br /> his/her duties than was anticipated normally. Middle management employees may be granted <br /> up to three (3) additional administrative leave days only upon the recommendation of the <br /> employee's department head. <br /> The seven (7) days of administrative leave will be credited to each management employee <br /> during the first pay period in January 2000 and during the first pay period in January of each <br /> succeeding year» <br /> Managers may choose to be paid for one -half of their unused administrative leave on the first <br /> pay day in May and for all of their unused administrative leave on the first pay day in <br /> November. All managers with unused administrative leave as of December 31st will be paid <br /> for said leave during the first pay period in January of the succeeding year. <br /> Management employees hired during the year preceding January 1st shall on January 1st <br /> receive a prorated administrative leave for each full month of employment. <br /> 7.7 Leaves of Absence <br /> 7.7(1) Leaves of Absence Without Pay <br /> The City Manager may grant a management or confidential employee leave of absence without <br /> t � 1 During 1999 the date for crediting of the seven (7) days of administrative leave shall be changed from November 1, <br /> 1999 to the first pay period in January 2000.
