This is a first step for subnutting projects to MTC as identified in Attachment 1. The Committee is also requested to provide feedback on the Draft Call for Projects. Project submittals are due on May 25`t'. The draft list of Vision Projects will be considered by the CMA Board in June and the fatal list will be considered in July. Vision Projects must be submitted to MTC by July 27`h. Next Steps Project Sponsors will prepare the Vision 2007 Countywide Transportation Plan Project Information sheets and submit to the CMA by May 25t1i . Discussion Attachment 1, Defining the 2009 RTP Vision, outlines MTC's approach to developing the Vision for the Regional Transportation Plan. Their schedule calls for projects to be submitted by July 27`h, 2007. Please note other items in the memo: • Assumes Projections 2007 Performance-based targets will be used: delay, VMT' and emissions • Project Parameters o Major capacity improvements o Major operational improvements o Small projects will be bundled into larger programmatic categories o Should be consistent with CWTP, RTP, or corridor studies o Should not have been rejected in a recent corridor study or have a fatal environmental flaw o Maintenance projects will be handled outside of this process MTC staff has indicated that projects for the financially constrained plan will be derived from the Vision. Large projects will be subjected to a performance evaluation including travel demand PAGE 1
