• improve station area design to highlight BART connectivity to a full range <br />of nearby uses including: employment, housing, retail, services and some <br />public/institutional; <br />• develop support appurtenances for intermodal use including: bicycle <br />facilities, car-share facilities, information services and public place- <br />making. <br />All project improvements will play an important role in integrating existing and <br />future land uses with the transportation network. Existing nearby uses include <br />over 7 MSF of office and office/flex, 900 KSF of retail and over 1,500 units of <br />residential development to the south of the station. Additional future uses in this <br />area will include development in any or all of these categories. In addition to <br />broader regional connectivity to the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station, project <br />improvements will also create greatly improved functional transit orientations with <br />the aforementioned development throughout a square mile area to the south of <br />the station with primary impacts in those areas closest to the station. <br />5.
