4y~,~,saNTOy
CITY of PLEAS~NTON
~~o
.~.:o.-~ Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DCte : March 11, 1970
Time : s:10 PM
fI0C8: Pleasanton Justice Court
Commissioner Antonini felt that he would not
want to make a decision at this time.
Commissioner Gibbs felt that he would be
partial to voting for it.
(Commissioner Pons was opposed to the strip
zoning.
Commissioner Pereira felt that he would be
opposed to strip zoning on Santa Rita Road,
but that perhaps the motion passed by the
Chamber of Commerce had some value. He felt
that perhaps a PUD method of handling the
C-S uses for Western Sierra might be the
answer.
Chairman Garrigan inquired of the City
Attorney if whether under a PUD for a home
fair center if the uses could be highly
restricted. Mr. Hirst replied that this was
possible within limits, but that he did not
feel bhe Commission could arbitrarily, under
a PUD, accept or reject a specific use.
Some further discussion ensued regarding
possible amendment of the zoning ordinance
to allow C-S uses under a PUD.
The City Attorney stated that the Commission
,should not discredit the possibility of
leaving the district in the "A" District,
;and then considering each use as a variance
'or conditional use, ratifying the final
'zoning at that time. Mr. Hirst expressed
'a wish to continue this application to allow
.him time to put together a workable solution
It was decided to continue this item for
two weeks in which time, the applicant's
representative, the City Attorney and the
Planning Director were to have a meeting to
work out a solution.
- 3 -
