4y~,~,sANTOy <br />CITY of PLEASANTON <br />.~ <br />`~~° Plannin Commission <br />`.1IM t0 t <br />-° 9 <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />Date May 27, 1970 <br />Time ; s:lo PM <br />Pia ce; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />The Public Hearing was opened by Chairman <br />Garrigan. <br />The staff demonstrated an exhibit showing <br />the amendments as noted in the General Plan <br />amendments for the Sunol Blvd. area. This <br />amendment denoted the areas in question as <br />I-P District. However, when the matter was <br />referred to the City Council, that board fel <br />that it would be unwise to classify all the <br />area to the Industrial District. It was the r <br />final recommendation that this area be place <br />in the Study District as an interim zoning <br />designation pending further study of the <br />area, development-wise, and to refer this <br />matter back to the Planning Commission for <br />verification of said S (Study) District. If <br />in the period of one year nothing is resolve , <br />that the zoning designation of I-P District <br />would automatically be reinstated. <br />The Planning Director reaffirmed his positi <br />that a C-S District would be a desirable ty <br />of land use, also, as an alternative, the <br />Light Industrial use (presently being con- <br />sidered by the Commission) would be very <br />compatible with the surrounding vicinity. <br />The Chamber of Commerce Industrial Committee <br />with Mr. William Gale, representing them, wa: <br />present and spoke very strongly regarding <br />their desire to maintain these lands in the <br />Industrial designation. <br />Mrs. Denise Thibault, representing certain <br />parties within the Mission Park area, spoke <br />in opposition to the Study District recomme <br />ed by Council. <br />A Mr. Eschelback, who had interests in <br />Mission Park, concurred with Mrs. Thibault's <br />statements.
