The staff demonstrated an exhibit showing the amendments as noted in the General Plan amendments for the Sunol Blvd. area. This amendment denoted the areas in question as I-P District. However, when the matter was referred to the City Council, that board fel that it would be unwise to classify all the area to the Industrial District. It was the r final recommendation that this area be place in the Study District as an interim zoning designation pending further study of the area, development-wise, and to refer this matter back to the Planning Commission for verification of said S (Study) District. If in the period of one year nothing is resolve , that the zoning designation of I-P District would automatically be reinstated. The Planning Director reaffirmed his positi that a C-S District would be a desirable ty of land use, also, as an alternative, the Light Industrial use (presently being con- sidered by the Commission) would be very compatible with the surrounding vicinity. The Chamber of Commerce Industrial Committee with Mr. William Gale, representing them, wa: present and spoke very strongly regarding their desire to maintain these lands in the Industrial designation. Mrs. Denise Thibault, representing certain parties within the Mission Park area, spoke in opposition to the Study District recomme ed by Council. A Mr. Eschelback, who had interests in Mission Park, concurred with Mrs. Thibault's statements.
