q~$~s"N~~y CITY of PLEASANTON
~~~.
4~
`~ ~~° Planning Commission
~MMfD t
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Date :May 27, 190
Time ; 8 ~ 10 PM
PICCB;Pleasanton Justice Court
which will bear the burden of traffic
emanating from the proposed Regional site in
the Stoneson development.
Mr. Campbell stated that it was hoped this
study could be undertaken in the near future
A Dr. Novario, 6 Castlewood Dr., had ques-
tions about widening Foothill Road south of
Bernal to accommodate the heavier traffic
because of the establishment of the Laguna
Vista Estates multiple units. It was explai
to him that the traffic generated would not
justify widening the road at that point.
Mr. Bruce Watson on Bevilacqua Court, had a
question regarding the adobe structure with-
in the Meadowlark property. He was con-
cerned that this structure might be obliter-
ated should the study indicate the necessity
to widen that section of the road from two-
lane to four-lane. He was assured by City
staff that this would not happen. The adobe
is located within property now under annex-
ation proceedings to the City and control
will be exercised on its disposition in that
respect; also that the City could indicate
it to be a historical site and thus preserve
it in that manner.
Mr. Richard Hudson, a resident on Foothill
Road, made the statement that the area lyin
between approximately Muirwood Drive and
Bernal Avenue is in the County at this time
Mr. Hudson was informed by staff that this
area is within the Pleasanton planning
boundaries and that the County has also
designated the entire length of Foothill
Road as a scenic road.
There being no further discussion, the
Public Hearing was closed.
The Planning Director voiced the opinion
that perhaps a decision should be postponed
until further studies regarding traffic
flow could be completed. However, Chairman
Garrigan felt that the Commission should
make a stand and submit an opinion fob _
