4y$~3A1VTo,L
CITY of PLEASANTON
~ ~~~ •
4
~,:o. Planning Commission
~rrro ~
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
D at8 : July 22, 1970
Time : 7:3o PM
Place: Pleasanton Justice Court
asked if this four-type housing was an
experiment. Mr. Frost replied that it had
Inot been put together into one cluster yet.
I, It was moved by Commissioner Hirst, seconded
by Commissioner Pereira, that the Public
,Hearing be closed.
'ICommissioner Pons stated that all other
parcels considered for this type of housing
element was much lower in total acreage, and
(felt that this large a project was not
!desirable and that added open space was also
Ineeded.
Commissioner Hirst felt there were advan-
tages and disadvantages to this particular
.housing concept. Mr. Hirst stated it does
conform to the General Plan and attempts to
have moderate priced housing which we need,
the sociology mix is good, it is convenient,
and the lower priced housing would be the
first under construction. Mr. Hirst felt
some of the disadvantages were that there wee
too many units, the problem of school was
not satisfactorily resolved, there had been
no application for HUD 235 money, there was
not enough recreational area, no commercial
area, only one tot lot, and this would place
too large a burden on the sewer plant.
Commissioner Pereira stated he felt the
general concept was a noble one with variety,
but was too massive. The street should be
widened to 60 ft., the off-street parking
is inadequate, the recreational needs are
also inadequate, and there is not enough
open space.
- 4 -
