4y$~-3ANTOy <br />CITY of PLEASANTdN <br />~~ ~, <br />~~° Plannin Commission <br />~MMiO e g <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />DGt@ ; August 12, 1970 <br />Time : 8:2s PM <br />PIpC@; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />These two items were considered at the <br />same time. <br />The Public Hearing was opened by Chairman <br />Garrigan. <br />Commissioner Hirst remarked that perhaps the' <br />facility should be smaller, and Commissioner <br />Pereira stated that he concurred with the <br />recommendations made by the staff. <br />The Planning Director gave the Commission <br />some background rela ting to this piece of <br />property. <br />Mr. Bob Myers, co-applicant for the condi- <br />tional use permit was present, and gave <br />the Commission extensive background on his <br />position and also why they felt the location <br />was desirable for this use. Dr. Frank Kresk <br />was also present. <br />In addition, Dr. Long spoke in favor of <br />this use and the desperate need for it in <br />the Valley. <br />Considerable information was furnished by <br />Mr. Myers concerning the functions contem- <br />plated for the convalescent and long-term <br />care facility. Discussion followed. <br />Mrs. June Vieira, 303 Neal Street, spoke in <br />opposition. <br />Mr. Richard Waldron, 1519 Loganberry Way, <br />spoke in favor of the application. <br />A Mrs. Arnold Stanberg also spoke, opposing <br />the application. <br />Rev. Robert Vogt spoke in favor of the <br />application. <br />- 4 - <br /> <br />
