41'.~~-SANTO~
~;.
~,; o
,~
~rrrv t
CITY of PLEASANTON
Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
D Gie : September 10, 1970
Time : 8:45 PM
PIQCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
Dr. Howard Long, 363 St. Mary Street, spoke.
He requested that the Commission favor this
application, as there is a real need for it
in the City.
Mr. Myers further spoke regarding the size
of the site, and the fact that the bedrooms
are 12 ft. X 16 ft., which is larger than
average. He did concede that the patio and
open space situation bears further considera~
tion. He did not, however, feel that too
many patients would be utilizing the patios.
He also felt that the parking requirements
should be brought into line with other
communities, which would aid in having more
open space for the patients.
He further stated that he personally felt
that the convalescent hospital use would be
more desirable than the RM-4000 zoning
noted on the General Plan.
Mrs. June Vieira, 303 Neal Street, inquired
about the number of staff in a day's shift.
The total would be 24.
Mr. Jim Niday, 4440 Entrada Drive, was not
in favor of the application.
Planning Director Castro then provided some
background information regarding zoning on
this piece of land. Discussion followed.
There being no further discussion, the
Public Hearing was closed.
Commissioner Pereira felt that the main
concerns he had was the sterilg, institu-
tional appearance. Did not like this.
Commissioner Hirst voiced the same feeling.
Felt the site plan must be revised.
- 4 -
