41'.~~-SANTO~ <br />~;. <br />~,; o <br />,~ <br />~rrrv t <br />CITY of PLEASANTON <br />Planning Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />D Gie : September 10, 1970 <br />Time : 8:45 PM <br />PIQCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Dr. Howard Long, 363 St. Mary Street, spoke. <br />He requested that the Commission favor this <br />application, as there is a real need for it <br />in the City. <br />Mr. Myers further spoke regarding the size <br />of the site, and the fact that the bedrooms <br />are 12 ft. X 16 ft., which is larger than <br />average. He did concede that the patio and <br />open space situation bears further considera~ <br />tion. He did not, however, feel that too <br />many patients would be utilizing the patios. <br />He also felt that the parking requirements <br />should be brought into line with other <br />communities, which would aid in having more <br />open space for the patients. <br />He further stated that he personally felt <br />that the convalescent hospital use would be <br />more desirable than the RM-4000 zoning <br />noted on the General Plan. <br />Mrs. June Vieira, 303 Neal Street, inquired <br />about the number of staff in a day's shift. <br />The total would be 24. <br />Mr. Jim Niday, 4440 Entrada Drive, was not <br />in favor of the application. <br />Planning Director Castro then provided some <br />background information regarding zoning on <br />this piece of land. Discussion followed. <br />There being no further discussion, the <br />Public Hearing was closed. <br />Commissioner Pereira felt that the main <br />concerns he had was the sterilg, institu- <br />tional appearance. Did not like this. <br />Commissioner Hirst voiced the same feeling. <br />Felt the site plan must be revised. <br />- 4 - <br />
