4~~,~,sAN~oy <br />CITY of PLEASANTON <br />~ "~! • <br />~~~~ Planning Commission <br />s so t <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />Dpte ; September 10, 1970 <br />Time : s:4s 1'M <br />PIQCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />MATTERS FOR <br />COMMISSION'S REVIEW <br />Vice Chairman Pons felt that the community <br />has an obligation to the elderly, but he <br />was concerned about the site plan, particu- <br />larly the northwest wing. <br />Discussion followed on the possibility of <br />redesigning the site to make it more com- <br />patible with the adjoining single-family <br />area. <br />In addition, a reduction in the number of <br />units would automatically mean a reduction <br />in the number of required parking spaces, <br />which would leave more area for open space. <br />Mr. Myers requested that the Commission <br />consider his application favorably that <br />evening, subject to approval of the design <br />plans at a later date. This was not possi- <br />ble as the conditional use permit would be <br />predicated on the number of beds. <br />Mr. Myers then inquired if the Commission <br />would be agreeable to a reduction in the <br />number of parking spaces, granted through <br />a variance? This did not receive too <br />favorable a response. <br />These matters were then continued for <br />further review of a revised site plan <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Hirst, seconded <br />by Vice Chairman Pons, the rezoning and <br />conditional use permit applications were <br />continued to September 22, 1970. <br />Review of zoning permit application by <br />Mr. Carlton Sullins to allow operation of <br />a rental service business at 4301 Valley <br />Avenue, Western Sierra Lumber Co. property. <br />Mr. John Corley, representing Western <br />Sierra's interests, was present to speak <br />for the applicant.
