Kreske and Robert J. Myers - <br />application for a conditional use permit <br />to allow the operation of a convalescent <br />and long-term care facility in a P (Public <br />and Institutional) District; said facility <br />to be located on property described as <br />Parcel 38, Block 14, Book 94 of the Alameda <br />County Assessor's Office, containing 1.86 ac <br />more or less, property generally located on <br />the north side of Neal Street at the inter- <br />section of Neal and Third Streets. <br />These two items were considered concurrent <br />The City Attorney explained to the <br />Commission that the resolution they passed <br />on August 12, 1970, approving the rezoning <br />subject to the approval of the conditional <br />use permit, was not legal. Consequently, <br />the matter is up for reconsideration. <br />Regarding the proposal under the conditiona <br />use permit, from studying the plot plan, th <br />Planning Director felt that the facility is <br />too large for the property in question and <br />based on those findings, which were noted <br />in previous report, denial is still recomme <br />ed. <br />Mr. Robert Myers, 332 Mavis Drive, Pleasan <br />was present and spoke in favor of the <br />application. <br />Mr. Myers referred to the extremely high <br />standards for the parking requirements. He <br />feels that this should be reduced. He also <br />presented a survey taken of parking require- <br />ments for convalescent facilities in the <br />Bay Area for informational purposes. <br />- 2 - <br />
