The reply was
that there are no development plans submittec
at this time.
Mrs. Bernice Oakley of Castledown Road,
expressed a desire for a reduction in the
commercial and if possible, no commercial
at all at Foothill and Bernal.
Mr. David Oakley of Castledown Road, felt
the staff should be complimented in rec-
ommending reduction in the commercial for
the area in question. It was Mr. Oakley's
understanding that if there were no C-N
zoning at this point, the entire area would
be zoning in the multiple. He felt that
this would be preferable to the commercial.
He would like to encourage commercial in
the C.B.D. area and would like to place this
area in a holding zone pending the future
needs of the vicinity.
Mrs. Oakley had a further question regarding
the utilization of one of the quadrants at
Bernal and ~k680 fora service station. It
was her understanding that ~~680 was designat
a scenic corridor and in view of that should
a service station be permitted, with its
usual tall signs? Mr. Aiello explained tha t
the City had control on the architectural
plans where it can curb the height and desig
of the sign. In addition, if a service
station is to locate there, it will be direc
to the east side of ~~680.
Mr. Rich Comfort, Aster Corporation, success<
to Macco Corporation property at the north/
east side of Foothill and Bernal had a
question regarding the multiples shown on
the General Plan. It was explained that thi:
area is not a specific site, but was merely
placed there to make up the 4.7 density
designated for the General Plan.
ed
- 4 -
