4y~,~-3AJVjoy CITY o~ PLEASANTON <br />~~~. <br />,~ <br />*° Planning Commission <br />~«Mi0 t <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />~at@ November 10, 1970 <br />Time ; 8135 PM <br />PIOC@; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />'Mrs. Jean Gill, 4829 Treewood, wished to <br />.know what will be happening north of Bernal, <br />whether the road will be widened. Mrs. Gill <br />was informed that the General Plan indicate: <br />a four-lane road from Bernal Avenue to ~~~80. <br />Mr. Alan Campbell, Director of Public Works, <br />further explained that the City and Alameda <br />County has entered into an agreement to <br />study the traffic circulation for the area, <br />and there is a possibility the roadway will <br />be two-lane from Bernal Avenue to West <br />Las Positas Boulevard, with the possibility <br />of widening where necessary. <br />Mr. Russell Roesler,. atty. representing <br />Castlewood Enterprises, was present and sta g <br />that he had studied the staff report from <br />the Planning Department and upon advice from <br />MacKay & Somps, Engineers, Castlewood <br />Enterprises would be receptive to a reduc- <br />tion in their commercial zoning. He further <br />expressed-that his client were reasonable <br />people and feel concern for the community <br />in which they own property. '~, <br />Mr. Alan Winslow, 28 Castlewood Drive, <br />concurred with the feelings expressed by <br />Mrs. Amaral, that the Foothill Road area <br />should be retained in its natural state. He <br />also expressed concern over the loss of <br />the country atmosphere. He further noted <br />that a survey should be taken of the vicinit~. <br />as to how the people feel about further <br />commercializa tion of Foothill Road, and that' <br />the Property Owners Association of Castlewoo~ <br />would be happy to assist in this regard. <br />Mr. Aiello explained that the purpose of th <br />study was to see if it would be feasible to <br />reduce the commercial in the area. That <br />consideration would be for an approximate <br />reduction of 11 acres of commercial land. <br />~d <br />- 3 - <br />
