An extensive staff report on this
matter was submitted for the Commission's
review.
Acting Secretary Aiello gave a brief summa-
rization of the report and what is the
recommendation of the Planning staff.
In addition, certain questions from the floor
needed to be clarified as far as the manner
in which the Notice of Public Hearing was
written up. It tended to be misleading and
it was clarified that the market or service
area from the actual point under consideratic
was also noted in the publica tion.
The study, however, odly applied to the
corner property on Foothill Road and
Bernal Avenue, and the four quadrants
at Bernal Avenue and Interstate ~k680.
It was further explained that the market or
service area was about two miles in radius.
Commissioner Pons inquired whether there
is to be more than one service station at
the four quadrants of Bernal and ~~680. The
reply was no.
Commissioner Hirst inquired whether City
Council has designated Foothill Road south of
Bernal to remain a two-lane road. The reply
was yes.
Mrs. Ruth Amaral, resident on Foothill Road,
spoke, stating that she felt the road should
remain a scenic way. Mrs. Amaral expressed
the wish for Foothill Road to remain in its
natural state.
- 2 -
