q~$~sANToy CITY of PLEASANTON
~ ~'i .
~~~~° Planning Commission
+rr so t
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
~ Ot8 : March 23, 1971
Time : s:oo PM
PIaCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
Also, a good portion is out by the proposed
Civic Center site which belongs to the
San Francisco Water District. (this is incorre t
as this land now belongs to the City). Other
office zoning is along Bernal and Foothill, &
along Peters Street. In addition, there is
some at Vineyard and Pico, in the Willow West
development and in Mission Park. There is
some at ~k580 and Foothill Road also. But,
very little of this land is usable in the
immediate future.
Regarding the preservation of the CBD,
Mr. Bras feels this is good reasoning, but
he was under the impression that it applied
only to the commercial. He wished clarifi-
cation if this philosophy is now expanded to
apply to Office zoning as well.
Next, Dr. Schlies spoke, advising the
,Commission that he had an option on the
property. His primary purpose is to utilize
,around 3-4 acres for his own all-encompassing
'comprehensive child health care center. He
~iidoes not feel this parcel is realistic on
the General Plan as Public and Institutional,
Renderings were then shown indicating possib]
',land use and circulation for the 15.56 ac.
,parcel.
Mr. Bras concluded the remarks for the
applicant, with the statement that he felt
the projected need for this Office zoning is
already here.
Commissioner Wood asked the applicant how
many medical offices would be locating on
this parcel instead of other types of office
uses. Dr. Schlies replied that he could
not really answer that except to say that
he intends to build his own facilities for
the child health care center, which will
include such services as pediatrics, psychol~
speech therapy, etc. The entire parcel will.
of course, be developed in phases.
- 2 -
