Date : March 23, 1971 Time : s:oo PM FIaCe: Pleasanton Justice Court Some discussion followed on the frontage roae access along the east property line abutting the Southern Pacific Railroad. The Director of Public Works indicated that at the present time no decision has been made on any entrie: or access road to extend past the Amador Estates subdivision. The Acting Planning Director then stated that if there were only going to be 3-4 ac. devoted to medical office uses, it would be compatible, but 15 ac. of office uses, which might be varied, may not be so readily absorbed. Vice Chairman Pons expressed concern for the balance of the acreage and what uses would be involved. Dr. Schlies felt that in order to justify his investment in the 3-4 acres he will need for his own facilities, he requires the entire 15.56 acres of Office zoning. The Acting Planning Director protested this, indicating that 3-4 acres for just the doctor needs would be preferable to allowing the entire parcel going to the office zoning, which would afford no control at all. Mr. Bras indicated that it would bye to the benefit of the City to rezone the whole parcel. He spoke of the possibility of a large corporate office locating there. Acting Secretary Aiello clarified this, indicating that the larger corporate offices generally locate in the I-P District, rather than the Office District. Discussion followed. A Mr. Don McDonald, owner of the Amador Pharmacy in town, spoke in favor of this application. He cited a need for such facilities as laboratories, and other ser- vices as obstetrical, gynecology, radiology, dermatology, etc. ~. ,~ 's - 3 -
