4V$~s"N~°~ C TY of PLEASA TON <br />I N <br />~ ~~! • <br />.~ <br />`~~*° Planning Commission <br />'~1.M tD t <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />Date : May 11, 1971 <br />Time : s:oo PM <br />PIG C8; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Mr. Raphel indicated his willingness to <br />cooperate with the City completely and said <br />he would bring in a letter stating that Sing r <br />Housing Company would not permit the service <br />station to open for business until the <br />completion of the construction on the Lucky <br />Store. <br />A resolution recommending approval of this <br />conditional use permit subject to conditions <br />noted in the staff reports, was entered and <br />passed. <br />Chairman Garrigan then noted that once again <br />the Commission, although the applicant did <br />not come right out and say it, did indicate <br />the promise of a fine shopping center and <br />anchor tenant. The Chairman noted that the <br />Commission often is placed in an untenable <br />position regardless of how they may vote. <br />He wished to clarify that if the station <br />had not come in tied in with the shopping <br />center, he would not have voted for it. <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT Humble Oil ~ Refining Company - conditional Resolution: <br />UP-71-10, Denied, use permit to allow the construction and Seconded: <br />Res. 1087. operation of an Enco service station on the Ayes: <br />southeasterly corner of Hopyard Road and Noes: <br />Valley Avenue, in a C-N (Commercial Neighbor od) Absent: <br />District, Pleasanton. Abstain: <br />The Public Hearing was opened by Chairman <br />Garrigan. <br />Present to speak for Humble Oil was Mr. Joe <br />Schwab, Attorney. Also present were Messrs. <br />Mike Majors and Don Kallenberg of Humble Oil <br />~ Refining Company. <br />Mr. Schwab clarified for the Commission that <br />they too would be willing to present in writ <br />ing an agreement that they will not permit <br />their sta tion to open until the Alpha Beta <br />market is constructed. <br />- 3 - <br />
