(Las Seconded: <br />Res. No. 1097 Positas), a townhouse development to be Ayes: <br />located on the west side of Santa Rita Road Noes: <br />north of the Arroyo Mocho Canal, Tract 3232, Absent: <br />containing approximately 23.8 acres fn total. Abstain: <br />There was discussion regarding illuminated <br />street numbers. Commissioner Hirst requeste <br />that this be included as a condition. <br />Discussion ensued regarding roofing material <br />Chairman Garrigan remarked about the <br />information on landscaping and discouraged <br />the use of their Latin names. <br />Again the matter of wood roofing was dis- <br />cussed. Chairman Garrigan stated that the <br />Commission made it clear that it would not <br />accept composition shingles. <br />Jim Belda, representing Singer Housing Co., <br />requested clarification and observations <br />on wood roofs. The Commission recalled a <br />tour they took of a Singer Housing project <br />in San Jose where composition roofing was <br />used and mentioned at that time that they <br />would not approve such roofing in Pleasanton <br />Mr. Belda stated that this material has been <br />improved since then. There was discussion <br />regarding Unit I and Mr. Belda stated that <br />the roofing was ready to goon, a wood-toned <br />shingled roof. <br />He expressed Singer Housing's disappointment <br />in added costs. <br />Mr. John Bowling, Housing Authority Director <br />discussed the ~~235 program units. It was <br />stated that another $400 added to the cost <br />of one of the units will put it beyond the <br />~~235 limit. Mr. Bowling expressed the <br />feeling that HUD 's i~235 funds for units <br />in San~Jose may be transferred to Las Posita <br />The discussion continued regarding this <br />matter. <br />-3- <br />
