'""`'°= CITY of PLEASANTON
Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Date July 13, 1971
Time : s:oo PM
PIaCe: Pleasanton Justice Court
Castro replied that in order to achieve the
lots the developer has to fill the canal.
The Parks and Recreation Commission has
passed a Resolution to allow motor bikes
to use the Youth Sports Park and they would
like to have the Planning Commission respond
to their action.
Chairman Garrigan commented that these bikes
are not permitted to be driven on the public
streets and have to be hand-wheeled to this
location. He felt that the City isn't in
any position to work on this bridge and this
action will only encourage this use.
Mr. Castro remarked that this kind of infor-
mation should be relayed back to the Parks
and Recreation Commission.
Mr. Bill Edgar replied that he was aware of
this and that this matter was going to go
directly to the City Council but at his
recommendation it is here before the Plannin;
Commission. He recommended that Gary Patton
and a couple of the Park and Recreation
Commissioners be present at the next meeting
to hear this matter.
Chairman Garrigan replied that he would like
to see this matter postponed until the
existing problems are cleared up. The
Commissioners then discussed the existing
hazards on the property to mini-bikes such
as the ungraded ground and dust from other
activities. It was determined that dis-
cussion is depth would be needed and a sub-
committee could be arranged by phone.
Commissioner Pereira expressed his willing-
ness to serve on this sub-committee if it
meets during the day.
Mr. Castro will contact Gary Patton regard-
ng this matter.
-lo-
