41'~ ~y <br />ABAN CITY of PLEASANTON <br />~ ~/• ~ <br />.~ <br />`~~~° Planning Commission <br />~MMfO t <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />DGte ; October 12, 1971 <br />Time : 8:00 P.M. <br />PIaCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Pleasanton, known as Pleasanton Green. <br />(These items were considered together. <br />'Mr. Castro outlined the staff report. <br />Chairman Carrigan expressed concern <br />regarding the sewers and Mr. Castro <br />replied that this project would <br />be sewered through the Sunol Plant. <br />In regard to traffic patterns on <br />Vineyard Avenue, Mr. Campbell, Direct r <br />of Public Works, replied that the <br />realignment of Ray Street acquisition <br />request will be this fiscal year and <br />construction the next fiscal year. <br />Bill Amis, representing Pleasanton <br />Greens, was present and addressed the <br />Commission. He stated that the timinc <br />of this project was very important anc <br />that they have been informed by HUD <br />that they are now in a very good <br />position for financing. He further <br />stated that Pleasanton Greens would <br />be able to take part of the housing <br />load from Kottinger Village. <br />Margene Helling, a member of the Desi n <br />Committee for this project and a Deac n <br />of the United Presbyterian Church <br />spoke in favor of this project and <br />asked the Commission to favorably <br />consider the elimination of carports <br />as she felt this is not a prime <br />necessity for the people who will be <br />living there as very few will own <br />automobiles and this added cost could <br />be put to better use in other improve <br />ments for the project. <br />1 Morris, Architect for the project, <br />as present and answered some of the <br />ommissioners questions regarding the <br />esign of the project. <br />-2- <br />
