No. 1132 <br />There was considerable discussion and <br />Chairman Garrigan questioned the applicant, <br />represented by Robert Johnson, S.D.C. <br />Construction, by asking why they didn't ask <br />for a phase opening before. Mr. Johnson <br />replied that they assumed that it was a <br />foregone conclusion. <br />Bill Henry, of Thrifty, was present and <br />stated that this particular center has six <br />parcels and several owners which makes <br />coordinating of an overall grand opening <br />more difficult than if it were under one <br />ownership. <br />Jerry Christner of Thrifty Drug was also <br />present and expressed desire for a phase <br />opening. <br />Commissioner Hirst entered a two-phase <br />resolution (1) that the Planning Commission <br />to on record acceptable to a phase opening <br />of this shopping center, and (2) that the <br />opening of this shopping center be set by <br />staff consistent with the health, safety <br />and welfare of the general citizenry. This <br />was seconded and carried unanimously. <br />Chairman Garrigan further commenting on this <br />opening, stated that the Val Vista developme t <br />should be contacted immediately and advised <br />that there is not going to be any opening <br />until total outside improvements have been <br />met according to conditions of approval. <br />Pleasanton Meadows Condominiums on Fairlands <br />Drive. This matter was held over until <br />later in the evening when Mr. Oakes could <br />be present. <br />Mr. Oakes was present and informed the <br />Commission that these 13 townhouse units are <br />the same as those in Tract 3297 on the <br />frontage road.
