There are 27 <br />various agencies who will be reviewing this <br />application and all of them feel some benefix <br />should accrue to them should the operation <br />be permitted. Commissioner Hirst stated that <br />the City of Pleasanton and all the agencies <br />involved should in fact have benefits accruic <br />to them, due to the tremendous risk they are. <br />raking in allowing an operation of this kind <br />din the Valley. <br />An unidentified lady in the audience wished <br />Ito know what the final land use on the westez <br />border of Martin Avenue would be, and was <br />especially concerned with the interim land <br />.use for this area. <br />Mr. Robert Lee also spoke of the possibility <br />of Kaiser perhaps putting on late-night <br />shifts to handle the transportation of the <br />garbage to the dumps, thereby greatly allevi- <br />ating traffic conditions. <br />Mr. Bill Downing of Kaiser was present and <br />spoke of his company's posisition. At the <br />very worst, they would be hauling 3,000 tons <br />a day, which is one-fifth of the present <br />gravel truck traffic. <br />He also indicated that the State Highway <br />Division was anticipating the widening of <br />#580 between Dublin and Hayward. <br />Mr. Edgar then advised the Commission that <br />the next scheduled meeting before the County <br />on this matter was February 28, 1972, at <br />1:30 PM, in the County Public Works Building. <br />A preliminary statement of the Commission's <br />feelings on this matter would be forwarded <br />to Council by Mr. Edgar outlining the four <br />points noted above. <br />21 <br />
