4~$~s"N~°y C TY of PLEASA TON <br />I N <br />~~; . <br />.~ <br />.o~ <br />`~~~° Planning Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />DCte : January 25, 1972 <br />Time : 7:00 PM <br />F'laCB; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Mr. Don Sooby, Director of Engineering Servi s, <br />presented a map explaining this position to <br />the Commission. This is not a long range <br />,plan but merely a guideline that as properti s <br />'redevelop, the City will know where the plan <br />lines should lie. Mr. Sooby indicated it wa <br />important to emphasize that considerable <br />investigation has been made into the possibi ity <br />of saving trees along Railroad Avenue. It <br />was their final decision'to eliminate a <br />considerable number of trees to provide a fu re <br />street width of 40 feet, curb-to-curb, to <br />allow for parking on both sides of the stree . <br />(Regarding replacement of these trees, this <br />.would be optional with the owners of the la <br />abut that the Commission could control this <br />!through their Design Review Board. Discuss <br />',followed on the question of parking. <br />'The Planning Director advised the Commission <br />that since a directive has come from Council <br />fora report on what direction the downton <br />will be taking as far as circulation and the <br />parking element, the precise plan line can <br />be modified or revised. <br />Mr. Campbell emphasized the importance of <br />acquiring a right-of-way this time for the <br />ultimate contingency. <br />There being no further testimony, the Public <br />Hearing was then closed. <br />Upon resolution of Commissioner Hirst, and <br />seconded by Commissioner Wood, the recommend <br />of the Planning Commission to adopt per staff <br />recommendation, a precise plan line for <br />Railroad Avenue and to so recommend this to <br />City Council. <br />:ion <br />- 15 - <br />
