CITY of PLEASANTON <br />Planning Commission <br />SPECIAL <br />MINUTES ~OF ~~~~~ MEETING. <br />DGte : March 21, 1972 <br />Time : 8:00 P.M. <br />PIGCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Mr. Burkhardt stated that they had <br />been approached by the Stoneson <br />people to work with them in develop- <br />ing their shopping center. To that <br />end, they have reached an agreement <br />with Stoneson and hope to join with <br />Homart to form a joint venture in <br />developing 168 acres into a multiple <br />department store regional center. <br />Bayshore Properties has been assured <br />by the principals of several large <br />department store chains now operatinc_ <br />in the Bay Area that they are <br />interested in locating a store in the <br />new center. If all conditions are <br />favorable, such as proper access and <br />roadways, sufficient population in <br />the trade area, etc., that they can <br />locate the center within four yearG. <br />If they receive a favorable recepti <br />they will proceed immediately with <br />the necessary zoning applications. <br />Mr. Fairfield then spoke. He indi- <br />cated that with a commitment from th <br />City for favorable consideration, <br />they would proceed immediately to <br />contact the major ten ants of the <br />center to begin preliminary work. <br />When this is completed, they will <br />apply to the City for the rezoning <br />of the land. This should be accom- <br />plished within a few weeks or perhap <br />a month or two. <br />Commissioner Hirst joined the meetin <br />at 8:15 P.M. <br />The press release prepared by Stones <br />was then passed out.
