4y~,~,saNToy
CITY of PLEASANTON
~~, .
.~
`~~*° Planning Commission
~MMiD f
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Da18 : March 28, 1972
Time : s:oo P.M.
PIQCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
REZONING
RZ-71-10, Continue
to April 25, 1972
National Medical Enterprises - to
rezone from the I-G 3 ac. (General
Industrial) District to the P (Publi
and Institutional) District that
property described as a portion of
Lot 4, Block 1301 of Book 941 of the
Alameda County Assessor's Office.
Generally located ®n Johnson Indus-
trial Drive west of Hopyard Road,
Pleasanton, containing 13 acres +.
Mr. Castro informed the Commission
that the applicant, through their
attorney, John Corley, has asked for
a 25-day continuance. Mr. Castro
explained to Mr. Corley that this
request would have to be taken
under advisement.
Mr. Castro then gave the staff
position with regard to this appli-
cation. Mr. Castro stated that he
believed the continuances that have
been granted in the past have not
generated any solution whatsoever
and felt this application should be
denied without prejudice.
The concern that Mr. Castro expressed
was not so much the number of beds
that could be provided for the west
end of the Valley as opposed to the
kinds of medical programs to be
developed to serve the needs of the
entire Valley as a whole. Mr. Castro
further informed the Commission that
a copy describing a medical program
for Valley Memorial Hospital was
received by this department only a
day ago and that in his opinion, the
objectives behind the report appeared
to be sound and valid and would
encourage the Commission to review
the findings as noted in the report.
-5-
