4~$~sAN~oy T o N
CITY of PLEASAN
~~; .
`~~~~° Planning Commission
~~IM iD f
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DCte : March 28, 1972
Time ; 8:00 P.M.
PIOCB; Pleasanton Justice Court
cities, but that would make little
difference to the staff recommendatio
regarding service stations.
Chairman Carrigan indicated that sinc
our study was made, there have been
some policies established in other
cities whereby if a service station
is left empty and abandoned for a
certain length of time, it will be
torn down, either by the oil company
or the City at the oil company's
expense.
r. Virgil I. McNabb of Western Oil
nd Gas Association addressed the
ommission. He explained that he was
n attendance to hear what the Com-
ission had to say.
no one else wished to speak, the
lic hearing was closed.
hairman Carrigan saw no further need
or this matter to be continued and
ntered a resolution that the con-
lusions of the Service Station Study
e adopted along with an added re-
ommendation that the City Council
nclude the requirement that stations
hich have been abandoned for a
eriod of 90 days will be removed by
ither the developer or the oil
ompany at their expense. If not
emoved within 90 days, the city may
emove said station with the cost
eing levied against the property
caner or the oil company .
his resolution was further amended
y Commissioner Hirst that should
he service station site be approved
or another use, an application be
ubmitted for Design Review within
he same 90-day period.
-3-
