Abstain: <br />There are some Parks and Recreation <br />Commissioners who are very dedicated <br />to finding adequate trails for motor <br />bikes, however there have been pro- <br />blems with children and adults usin <br />motorizied bikes in public parks <br />and it is the Parks and Recreation's <br />concern to find a suitable area for <br />the use of these bikes. <br />The City has now been offered and wi <br />be receiving thousands of yards of <br />dirt out of the Mackay development <br />during most of the summer and there <br />will be heavy trucks in and out of <br />the back area, and so it will not be <br />possible to use that area for this <br />purpose. The police will need to <br />control the area. <br />This matter will go on to Council wi <br />both recommendations and the other <br />parks Commissioners can speak on <br />their behalf. <br />Commissioner Pereira addressed him- <br />self to the question of horses as <br />destructive to turf. He agreed with <br />the but did not feel that restrictinc <br />them to Bonita Park was the answer. <br />He suggested a signing program which <br />would keep all horses in parks. <br />Chairman Carrigan entered a resolutic <br />regarding PR-72-1, that a recommenda- <br />tion be made to City Council for an <br />Ordinance prohibiting motorized <br />x-13 - <br />~.:...__.~_- __.._______.. _.. ___ ___.___.J._ .... . ...... .._____ <br />
