Mr. Castro told the Commission that this property is owned by Willow West Properties. Several years ago, they came in with a rezoning request, which was granted to them. After that, the property was stationary, unt the Homart Development shopping center reque Reference was also made to the fact that the City, several years ago, did in fact make a general comparison analysis between the Fairlands Regional Center and the Stoneson site. The conclusions of that study reveale that of the two sites in question, the Stoneson site was a more suitable location as opposed to the Fairlands site which was recommended fora sub-regional area with som of the lands reverting to other commercial- freeway oriented facilities. In September, 1971, the application of Homar ',was received. This application was signed !by Mr. DiSalvo in conjunction with Homart. However, the latest development is that Homy is now forming a joint venture with Stoneson in collaboration with Bay Shore Properties. Mr. Mariam then handed out packages of pre- liminary material which had previously been given to the Commissioners in reference to t Homart development. He felt that the studie and conclusions reached at that time would s be valid although Homart would no longer be using that information. Mr. Mariam also read a letter which he had sent to the Homeowner Groups and which was mailed to them on April 19, 1972. Mr. Mariam cited the reports prepared for Homart as being accurate. He then told tha t Homart is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sears. Mr. Mariam indicated that he spoke with Mr. Rollins, representative and attorney for Sears, who had assured him that he had not signed anything as far as a major tenant is concerned. -4- .11
