This number was 1,169. Them <br />ere 363 building permits for the immediate <br />ervice area of the proposed site, and 806 ~ <br />ermits were issued for the area tributary <br />o the Sunol treatment pla nt. With the new <br />olicy established by Council regarding eva- <br />uation of service stations, whereby each sta <br />s to be reviewed and granted on an individua <br />axis and in accordance with the needs of the <br />ommunity at the time the application is <br />eceived, this would have bearing. <br />r. Joseph Schwab, representing the applicant <br />as present and indicated that he felt the <br />pplica nt has met all the proper criteria. <br />lso present was Mr. Don Kallenberg of Humble <br />ail Co., who spoke in favor of the applicatio <br />e indicated that the population ha s increase <br />y about 8,000 since their original applica- <br />ion. He described further reasons for <br />pproval of this application at this time. <br />irs. Rosalie Gasaway, resident of Garner Ct., <br />questioned Mr. Kallenberg's statement that an <br />.ncrease of 8,000 in population is sufficient <br />oasis for another service station in this <br />vicinity, as certainly a large portion of thi; <br />,ncrease is comprised of children. <br />[r. Chuck Seymour also spoke. He felt that <br />he General Plan review should also include <br />he ultimate holding capacity of Pleasanton, <br />~hich would have bearing on the number of <br />ervice stations allowable. He felt the City <br />hould be cautious until the results of the <br />eneral Plan review have been made known. <br />- 5- <br />:ion <br />
