4y$~3AJVjO~
CITY of PLEASANT~N
~~ .~,.
,~
~~° Planning Commission
~MMfO t
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DGfie : May 23, 1972
Time : 8:55 P.M.
PIaCe: Pleasanton Justice Court
be changed to a regional center, then
the City stands to lose its industria
acreage. If the land then given for
a regional center does not material-
ize, it will surely go residential.
Without the economic base, the City
will not have the balance it needs.
Commissioner Pons felt it would be
reasonable to have Livingston &
Blayney present when the applicants
make their full presentation on the
shopping center sites, but since
this has not occurred, what is the
evaluating agency going to look at
without both sites to compare.
Chairman Garrigan concurred with the
points taken by the other Commission-
ers. The Chairman then indicated
that only 90 acres would be devoted
to the regional center, what of the
remaining acreage? There is the
dual function of economics and land
use. Chairman Garrigan feels the
City must make a decision in an
orderly, reasonable fashion. If
there is to be a change from the
Stoneson parcel to the Willow West
parcel for the shopping center, then
much substantiating information must
be presented.
With the conclusion of the Commission
members' statements, Chairman Garri-
gan offered a resolution to deny the
request of Willow West Properties.
This was seconded by Commissioner
Pereira and carried. Applicant was
advised he has 15 days to appeal
this decision to Council.
-6-
