4y$~-3A1VTO~ <br />CITY of PLEASANTON <br />.~, . <br />`~~*~° Planning Commission <br />+wr so t <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />Date June 13, 1972 <br />Time : 8:35 P.M. <br />PIGCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />MATTERS FOR COM- The Reconnaissance Report for the <br />MISSION'S REVIEW proposed revitalization of the Centra <br />Business District was given to the <br />Commission for their review, comments <br />and suggestions. <br />Introduction was made by Chairman <br />Carrigan of this report to the other <br />Commissioners and Secretary Castro <br />indicated that this first report was <br />merely a taking of inventory and what <br />actually exists in the downtown area. <br />The second report will be presented <br />sometime the latter part of June or <br />in July and will address itself more <br />to the solutions for the apathy in <br />the downtown area. <br />The staff, at this time, is attempti <br />to obtain from the Commission their <br />thoughts and suggestions and perhaps <br />use them in the second report. <br />Commissioner Pereira felt the report <br />lays a very good foundation to build <br />upon. He felt that throughout the <br />report, objectivity has been main- <br />tained. He suggested that when and <br />if it becomes necessary for electrica <br />traffic signals to be installed that <br />the City explore the possibility of <br />getting one that will blend with the <br />motif of the C.B.D. <br />Commissioner Wood had no comments to <br />offer at this time. <br />Commissioner Pons felt that the repor <br />should deal with the parking problems <br />the type of services that should be <br />encouraged for the C.B.D. and that a <br />written policy be established. <br />-3- <br />
