He was also opposed to the <br />;Edward Schlies Office zoning appli- <br />~Ication. <br />(Discussion followed. <br />Secretary Castro reminded the Commis- <br />sion that recommendations were made <br />by staff to the Commission several <br />years ago regarding proposed 1 and <br />uses, but that at that time, they <br />were unacceptable to either Planning <br />(Commission or City Council. <br />Vice Chairman Pons then indicated tha <br />an overall recommendation should be <br />forthcoming for this area. Commissio <br />Wood concurred, stating that this <br />area should go into a Study District. <br />He also requested copies of the re- <br />ports from the previous study at the <br />time the Commission reviews this <br />matter again. <br />Secretary Castro indicated that it wo <br />be no problem to get a recommendation <br />back to the Commission in a relativel <br />short time. <br />Mr. Fairfield then spoke indicating <br />that should the Commission decide to <br />put this area into a Study District, <br />that recommendation would be synonymo <br />with a denial for his client. <br />Upon resolution of Commissioner Wood, <br />seconded by Commissioner McLain, a <br />resolution was offered to place the <br />parcels north of Valley Avenue to and <br />including E1 Rancho Motel in a Study <br />District not to exceed 60 days. This <br />resolution received a majority vote <br />and carried. <br />-7- <br />
