4v$AS"N~°y ~ ~ TY of PLEASANTON
CI
~ ~'i ,
e°
~~~° Planning Commission
~wsso ~
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DCt@ : July 25, 1972
Time : 8 s45 P.M.
PIaCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
or less . More commonly known as that
property adjacent and immediately
north of the Western Sierra property
fronting Santa Rita Road, Pleasanton.
The Public Hearing was opened.
Secretary Castro explained to the
Commission that irrespective of the
concerns of the staff, one of the mai:
reasons for the staff recommending
continuance and placing of the areas
from Western Sierra property through
El Rancho Motel (which includes the
.,Struthers parcel as well) is the
amount of Office zoning already ex-
isting outside of the Central Busines
'District area.
',Secretary Castro further clarified
'that the staff realizes there can be
no further expansion of commercial
facilities north of E1 Rancho Motel
'but there is the question of what is
~to be done with the properties lying
~!ibetween Western Sierra and the motel.
Western Sierra is still up for sale
sand probable future uses by the new
owner will be a matter for review.
It is the staff's recommendation that
this rezoning application be contin-
ued and a Study District imposed on
the properties in question to deter-
mine a feasible land use for them.
Mr. Ted Fairfield of MacKay & Somps
then spoke. He was representing
William Struthers and the agency who
will be utilizing the office space,
Valley Realty. Mr. Fairfield explain
that Valley Realty has a certain num-
ber of days to move out of their
present quarters and for this reason
were hoping to obtain the rezoning
for their office space. Mr. Fairfiel
demonstrated a map indicating all the
current Office zoning within the City
:d
-5-
