q~~ASANToy C TY of P AS TO <br />I LE AN N <br />~. ~~ o <br />.~.:o~-~ Pianntng Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />DQtB July 25, 1972 <br />Time : g;45 P.M. <br />PIQCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />loan operation in the Alpha Beta Cen- <br />ter, also that they would like a <br />recommendation to Council as to the <br />Commission's position on this matter. <br />Then, perhaps, either Mr. Castro or <br />Mr. Edgar could contact the State or <br />Federal people to get their input. <br />Vice Chairman Pons felt that rather <br />than lose the business, he would be <br />willing to grant this matter. <br />The President of the Citizens Savings <br />and Loan Association, Mr. Frank, spokE <br />next and attempted to explain some <br />of the procedures that have taken play <br />since they first applied to the City <br />to locate an office there. <br />The City Attorney explained that he <br />had advised Council that no applicati n <br />could be renewed prior to the one-yea <br />lapse period. But that additional or <br />new evidence to previously continued <br />or denied items could be again con- <br />sidered. There is a provision in the <br />ordinance that states that although <br />no application can be reheard previou <br />to one year after denial, with new <br />evidence presented, the Council can <br />waive the one-year provision. <br />Mr. Joe Schwab, asked for clairifi- <br />cation of the Council request regardir <br />the granting of a waiver to this one- <br />year lapse period. <br />Considerable discussion ensued, and <br />a motion was then offered by Commis- <br />sioner Pereira that the Planning <br />Commisison continue to endorse its <br />previous policy not to allow financia: <br />institutions to locate in shopping <br />centers or outside of the C.B.D., <br />unless a main office of that organi- <br />zation is already located in the <br />~9 <br />-12- <br />
