gy$~sAN~°y CITY of PLEASANT~N
~~ '~~-
`~~-*~° Planning Commission
'~J~M^D f
I MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Da18 : October 3, 1972
Time: 8:0o P.M.
PIOCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
The staff was further instructed to
write a letter to the County recom-
mending that they proceed with
Phase II of their ridge and park
plan. This study consists of cost
analysis and alternatives for develo
ment of such a park.
Secretary Castro indicated that the
technical staffs met prior to the
public hearing and the consensus of
opinion was that they would prefer
that the Commission endorse one of
the plans and everybody was more in
favor of the open space plan. This
matter would then be referred to
Alameda County. Hopefully, after
that study is completed, the City of
Pleasanton could then relate that
study to their General Plan review.
It was hoped that Alameda County
would coordinate all these efforts.
Commissioner McLain stated that the
big pressure was from the property
owners who were in the position of
paying taxes on land which they could
not develop, yet may not be purchased
by the County either.
Commissioner Wood remarked that the
',downtown area is beginning to look
!,very nice, as more merchants are
'beginning to abide by the City's
..wishes regarding its signing program.
The Chairman felt that perhaps the
joint study session of Council and
Commission cleared up a lot of
problems and misunderstandings.
-6-
