4~~,~,s~HTOy
CITY of PLEASANTON
~~o
~.:o.-~ Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Data January 9, 1973
Time : s:oo P.M.
PIaCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
Commissioner Pereira then commended
Mr. Schoendienst for his efforts in
presenting such a factual analysis of
the airport situation as it appears
to exist at this time. This was
seconded by Commissioner McLain, who
had initiated and arranged for the
presentation by Mr. Schoendienst.
Referring to the map on the board
showing the downflight distances
from the airport outlined in red,
Commissioner McLain wished to know
how close that curve is to the exist-
ing housing? The pattern shows at
the end of the curve that the plane
would be 800-1000 ft. in altitude.
Secretary Castro then described that
this downward flight would begin
fairly close to the Diller-Granada
property presently owned by H. C.
Elliott, Inc., and within the
Pleasanton City limits. However,
most of the land curve area lies
over the sand and gravel lands and
will so remain for the next 25 years.
Some discussion followed on viola-
tions of current problems of landing
curves affecting the Pleasanton
Heights area, in addition to several
other areas of Pleasanton.
The Commissioners indicated that the
City Attorney had presented them witt
some Federal aviation law material
and was to provide them with some
information pertaining to State
laws, which they would like to have.
In addition to Mr. Schoendienst,
Mr. James Brians, Airport Manager
for the Livermore Airport was in the
audience and asked to say a few word:
-3-
