'""` CITY of PLEASANTON <br />Planning Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />Date : January 23 , 19 73 <br />Time : 8:00 P.M. <br />PIQQe~ Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Approved. <br />Present in the audience was Mr. Barry! <br />Winston, a member of the Jaycees, <br />who offered the services of the Jay- '~ <br />cees in implementing this program. <br />A resolution was then offered and <br />unanimously adopted approving the <br />Bicycle, Horse & Hiking Trail Systems <br />as presented by the planning staff <br />in their report dated January, 1972. <br />Review of Request of Franklin Savings <br />& Loan to keep the carillon chimes on <br />a permanent basis at 561 Main Street, <br />Pleasanton. <br />Secretary Castro advised that there <br />were several communications from the <br />citizenry indicating they liked the <br />chimes. There was one letter from <br />Mr. Ron McNicoll indicating dis- <br />satisfaction with the chimes. <br />Motion: <br />;Seconded: <br />'Ayes: <br />:Noes <br />Absent: <br />'Abstain: <br />Mr. Ted Mann of Franklin Savings & <br />Loan was present and told the Com- <br />'missioners that he had 302 communi- <br />cations indicating satisfaction with <br />the carillon chimes, with two letters <br />in opposition. <br />The Commissioners asked where the <br />letters of opposition were from. Mr. <br />Mann replied that one complaint came <br />from Ron McNicoll and the other from <br />a resident on Happy Valley Road. <br />After some further discussion, a <br />motion was offered by Commissioner <br />McLain, seconded by Chairman Pons <br />and carried, allowing Franklin Savin <br />& Loan to keep the carillon chimes <br />permanently subject to the following <br />conditions: <br />X <br />'X <br />-7- <br />
