CITY of PLEASANTON
Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Date : February 13, 1973
Time : 8:08 P.M.
Place: Pleasanton Justice Court
feeling that at 250 units per year, they
would probably have some problems.
The Pleasanton Elementary School District ~.
indicated no problems either. They personalkly
preferred the 500-800 growth rate, with Mr. ;,
Rudy Gatti, Superintendent of the Pleasanton,!
School District preferring the 800 for the
next five years based on the fact that last
year 2,200 building permits were issued and :,
this year only 432. This type of fluctuation
makes it extremely difficult fora School ~
District to project their growth rates. II
There are problems foreseen with the High
School District. Dr. Carlisle has indicate
250 will cause problems. Mr. Castro felt
that his final report will more than likely
endorse a 500-800 growth rate.
Phase 2 - 1978-1983
Population - 57,975.
By this phase, all outstanding tentative,
zoned and final lots will have been absorbe
and new areas for development would be
considered. These would include the Martin
Mohr area, properties around the Lund Ranch
and easterly of the Vintage Hills developee
Improvements needed will be completion of
Foothill Road between Stoneridge Drive and
West Las Positas Blvd., which is essential.
It is also necessary to look at the W.Las
Positas interchange and should be extended
to the park during this period.
As far as other streets, Hopyard Road should
be improved between the bridge or park area
and the Del Valle Parkway, extension of
Del Valle up to Santa Rita Road. Also, con-
sider extension of Valley Avenue between the
Mackay development and Bernal Avenue, since
most of this area will be developed.
-8-
