CITY of PLEASANTON
Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
pq~e ; February 13, 1973
T11118 ; 8:08 P.M.
P'Iq C8; Pleasanton Justice Court
Secretary Castro advised the Commission that Motion:
the staff had nothing to add to the staff Sec:
report - that it was Council's direction Ayes:
that this rezoning be dropped from further !Noes:
consideration. j,Absent:
I;Absta in:
The City Council further recommended that
the parcel belonging to Qualified Investment
be placed in the Study District in light of
testimony taken at Council level from reside
of the Val Vista development, who expressed
concern at having any kind of light indus-
trial or service commercial adjacent to
their homes. The City Council recommended
a study district for 90 days.
Commissioner Garrigan felt that the sugges- II
tion made in Mr. Farrell's letter that a
stone wall 6 to 8 ft. high, rather than a
wooden fence to separate the single family
residential and the parcel owned by Qualifie.
Investments, Inc., should be constructed now
rather than wait for clarification of zoning
for that parcel. The fencing material could'
be similar to that used to separate the Luck
Center from Val Vista's single family homes.'
The City Attorney indicated that this condi-1
tion could be applied to the extent that it ,
is legally feasible. j
Acting Chairman Pereira felt that in addi-
tion to requiring the developer to indicate
on a map in their sales office that Tracts
3311 and 3312 are adjacent and fairly close
to the V.C.S. D. sewage treatment plant, they
should also indica to that the parcel lying
between Tract 3311 and the treatment plant
could well be some use other than residentia
He felt that it is the obligation of the
seller of the tract and the City to go to
all ends to inform potential new residents
of adjoining land uses; when schools and
parks may be developed, etc.
-2-
is
X
'X~X~X~
,;:
k I ~ ~x
X`
X~
f
