'~""' CITY of PLEASANTON <br />Planning Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />Date : February 13, 1973 <br />Time : 8:08 P.M. <br />PIG Ce; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />The Parks & Recreation Commission expressed <br />concern about the shopping center's two-year', <br />delay at 500 Growth Rate. <br />The City Manager felt the figure of 800 a <br />year would be good, beyond which perhaps the <br />City should not go. Mr. Edgar further <br />explained that the shopping center would nee <br />a market area of 150,000 people. The Valley <br />at this time contains 100,000 population. <br />If one takes a starting date of 1975 with <br />completion by 1977, at 800 units per year, <br />,this would be workable. <br />IAt 500, there is a two-year delay. <br />IAt 650, perhaps a 1~ year delay. <br />Commissioner Garrigan indicated he would <br />,like to consider a graduated scale of <br />'.800-800-650-600, etc. <br />Commissioner Wood asked Mr. Edgar if the <br />City could accommodate 800 hookups a year. <br />The reply was yes, with V.C.S. D. handling <br />500 and Sunol the remaining 300. <br />The recommendation from Acting Chairman <br />Pereira and Commissioner Wood was for 800. <br />The following motions were then adopted: <br />Planning Commission - upon motion of <br />Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Commissioc <br />Wood and carried, the Planning Commission <br />recommended a "ballpark" figure of 800 dwelli <br />units per year. <br />Parks & Recreation Commission - upon motion <br />of Commissioner Wipfli, seconded by Commis-I <br />Toner Gielow and carried, the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission recommended a 800 a <br />year growth rate figure. <br />'r <br />-17- <br />
