He gave <br />the history of the original rezoning <br />of this parcel in 1971. It was the <br />applicant's intent to have his own <br />medical facilities, for pediatrics, <br />with the balance in related medical <br />services. Mr. Castro also called th <br />Commission's attention to the memo <br />of May 6, 1971, from Mr. Fales, <br />then City Manager, noting that at an <br />April 27, 1971 meeting between the <br />staff and the applicant, the staff <br />recommended, and the Council took <br />action on May 3, 1971, returning <br />Dr. Schlies' rezoning application to <br />the Commission for further consider- <br />ation, and that only 5 ac. be devote <br />to Office use and the remaining 10 a . <br />to be placed in the P District. The <br />applicant was also to indicate to <br />the Commission a more precise shape <br />of the 5 acres he would prefer to <br />be zoned in the Office District; <br />that the 5 acres so zoned for Office <br />would be used for the development of <br />a medical office complex; and that t e <br />Planning Commission also initiate <br />action, upon its own motion, to re- <br />zone a parcel adjacent to the sub- <br />ject parcel owned by Holly Sugar <br />Co. from the A to the P District at <br />the earliest possible time.
