Secretary Castro made an oral pre- sentation of this matter. He gave the history of the original rezoning of this parcel in 1971. It was the applicant's intent to have his own medical facilities, for pediatrics, with the balance in related medical services. Mr. Castro also called th Commission's attention to the memo of May 6, 1971, from Mr. Fales, then City Manager, noting that at an April 27, 1971 meeting between the staff and the applicant, the staff recommended, and the Council took action on May 3, 1971, returning Dr. Schlies' rezoning application to the Commission for further consider- ation, and that only 5 ac. be devote to Office use and the remaining 10 a . to be placed in the P District. The applicant was also to indicate to the Commission a more precise shape of the 5 acres he would prefer to be zoned in the Office District; that the 5 acres so zoned for Office would be used for the development of a medical office complex; and that t e Planning Commission also initiate action, upon its own motion, to re- zone a parcel adjacent to the sub- ject parcel owned by Holly Sugar Co. from the A to the P District at the earliest possible time.
