There is considerable glass' <br />currently being proposed and perhaps <br />this could be broken up by use of <br />brick, planter boxes, and maybe, <br />tinting of the glass. <br />Secretary Castro indicated that it <br />would be his preference to continue <br />this application pending revised <br />submittal of the west elevation. <br />Discussion followed. <br />A motion was offered. by Commissioner <br />Pereira, seconded by Commissioner <br />McLain recommending that Condition <br />No. 20 referring to the parking <br />district formation and the intent of <br />the applicant not to protest such a <br />formation, be retained as a condition <br />of approval. <br />This motion was deadlocked with <br />Commissioners McLain and Wood <br />voting no and Chairman Pons and <br />Commissioner Pereira voting yes. <br />Some further discussion followed, <br />'but no agreement was reached. <br />A resolution was then offered by the <br />Chairman, seconded by Commissioner <br />'.Pereira and carried, approving the <br />~~variance to allow the development <br />~~with two parking spaces less than <br />required . <br />Another resolution was then offered <br />by Chairman Pons, seconded by Com- <br />missioner Pereira, and carried, <br />approving the design submittal for <br />Mr. Smith's development, with <br />changes as noted in the resolution, <br />those primarily being resubmittal <br />of design for the elevation fronting <br />Main Street. <br />-8- <br />
