qy`~$""~°y CITY of PLEASANT®N
~~,
,~
`~ ~~° Planning Commission
wwao ~
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DGte : May 8, 1973
Time : 8:15 P.M.
PIaCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
The Planning Commission, on May 11,
1971, reviewed the Council's recom-
mendation and modified their origina:
resolution to allow not more than
5 acres in the Office District, with
the remaining 10 acres placed in the
Public and Institutional District,
as per Resolution 1089. This action
was ratified by Council on May 24,
1971, under Ordinance No. 631.
Since that time, the staff has noted
the amount of Office zoning along
Santa Rita Road and because of this
concern, the study district proposal
is now being considered for this
area. In addition, it appears that
the City is being overwhelmed by
medical facilities and justification
will need to be made to allow furthe
development along these lines, based
on the current population projection
This concern is also tied in with th
General Plan revision now underway.
Both Drs. Schlies and Clemetson were
present to speak against placing
this property in the Study District.
Design plans for an office complex
had been submitted five days before
this hearing. They indicated that
they already had commitments for
occupancy of a portion of their
proposed building.
In addition, they have been in con-
tact with the County Health Depart-
ment who have no objection to their
proposal for a holding tank.
Mr. Tom Andrews was present. He is
administrator of Valley Memorial
Hospital. He indicated he was pre-
sent that evening of his own voli-
tion. He did not feel this appli-
cation could be of harm to the
-10-
