PIOC9; Pleasanton Justice Court The Commissioners voiced dissatis- faction with some of the architectur ~~al features of the proposed develop- 'ment, especially the elevation which fronts on Main Street. Chairman Pons requested that Mr. Smith bring in a sample of the type of roofing material he proposes to utilize. Mr. Smith indicated that he would be willing to do so, more- over, he would be amendable to utilizing shake, if this was what the Commission wished to see. Mr. Smith made it apparent to the Commissioners that he was anxious to start construction during the summer months, when there is less likely to be any rainy weather. Discussion ensued on design consi- derations and several suggestions were made, such as use of Spanish the for the roof material or perhaps shake. Commissioner Wood indicated that he did not feel this design would be complimentary to the Central Business District. Chairman Pons shared this feeling to the extent that while the Commission would like to encourage redevelop- ment of the Central Business Distric , they would like to see that rede- velopment maintain the character projected for it. The City Attorney brought up the question of the parking district and the condition which the Commission has been making a part of approval for downtown properties.
