Bass - application
fora conditional use permit to allow the
operation of a preschool and kindergarten in
an RM-1500 (Multiple) District, said use to
be located at 883 Rose Avenue, Pleasanton. ~
Commissioner Garrigan referred to the reso-
lution adopted. on this request, which was
given to the previous owners of the operatioc
Leonard and Joyce Grossman, and noted that
the conditional use granted was so done for
the applicant, and not in connection with the
property. He further reminded the Commissioc
of the opposition from surrounding neighbors
when the original application was heard by
the Commission. No one has
contacted City Hall to register opposition.
Commissioner Pereira stated that at the time
the permit was granted to the Grossmans, he
voted against it, for the reason that he
felt the RM-1500 District was nonconforming
for the use intended, since there were other
areas which would be conforming and suited
to the use proposed. He stressed that it was
in no way a slight to the Grossmans, but ',
purely a feeling of conviction on his part
that the zoning was inappropriate.
Secretary Castro advised the members that
there were four letters on file from various
individuals who work in related fields, high]
recommending Mr. and Mrs. Bass.
The Public Hearing was opened.
Ms. Susan Holley, represented Mr. and Mrs.
Bass, who could not be present that evening.
Ms. Holley addressed her remarks to the
acceptance the community has given to the
nursery school, and that there have been no
complaints . -9-
\~~~\
\\\~~~~
Motion: ~X
Seconded:
Ayes : I,X
Noes
Absent:
Abstain:
i
'.
i ;
~~
1
i
i
i '
I
i I
IX
ix ~ ~ !.
i I
I '
j ~
r
