4~'~ y
AS"Nr° CITY of PLEASANTON
~ '/.
~~~° Planning Commission
.o
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DGte : November 21, 1973
Time : 7:30 P.M.
PIGCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
Mr. Tom Andrews made reference to th
140-acre site of the former disposal
area for V.C.S.D. sewage treatment
plant, that this proposal was sub-
mitted to the CAC who were uncon-
vinced that no damage could occur
to the water table. They felt a
prohibition should be placed on this
acreage until additional data was
obtained.
A five-minute break was called at
].0:00 P .M.
Mr. William H. Gale, Attorney, with
offices at 62 W. Neal Street, spoke
to this matter.
He indicated that from the map pre-
sented, that the bulk of the
property west of Foothill Road
is reserved for open space.
He was asked by Mr. Walter Johnson
to attend the meeting. He indi-
cated that there are real problems
for property owners on the west side
of Foothill Road, who have been
paying sewer/water assessments for a
long time, only to now discover that
the land is to be reserved for open
space. In the case of Mr. Johnson,
he has even dedicated a portion of
his property to the City for a park.
He is wondering about the equity of
this element as it affects their
properties. If the Seismic Element
requirements would preclude the
Open Space Element, then there
would be no room for discussion,
otherwise, they would appreciate
some alternative offered by the City
for at least minimum development of
their property.
The Public Hearing was then closed.
-23-
