CITY of PLEASANTQN
Planning ~ommiss(on
MIN~IT~S 0~ REGU~_AR MEETING.
Date j December 12, 1973
Timet s:os P.M.
P~QOe~ Pleasanton Justice Court
Chairman Pereira indicated that the
map is a land use one and once
adopted will become the new General
Plan map. He further stated that
he had never seen a P.U.D. designa-
tion on a General Plan map.
Some discussion ensued on this point,
City Attorney Ken Scheidig told Mr.
di Manto that even though the new
General Plan will go into effect,
there would be a substantial amount
of time in which the zoning would
have to be changed to become reason-
ably consistent with the General Plar
and that, realistically, he would
not lose the zoning presently show-
ing for his property.
Mr. di Manto told the Commissioners
that he has had negotiations with
the City Manager, Assistant City
Manager Alan Campbell and Senior
Planner Harris relative to develop-
ment of his property. He indicated
some problems regarding flood contro]
channels which cut across his pro-
perty and that he is in negotiation
with the Alameda County Flood Con-
trol District and Mr. Campbell to
settle this matter. Mr. di Manto
further advised them that SPRR has
some interest in doing some Highway
Commercial development -- presumably
a large motel of about 250 rooms.
However, there is no site right now
without poor access roads. He relatE
to the Commission that his organiza-
tion would like to retain what they
have, perhaps improve it and hope-
fully will be able to begin develop-
ment within two to three years. They
intend to work with SPRR.in attempts
to eliminate the bulk of the lake.
Mr. di Manto clarified for the
Commission that Johnson & Johnson
had renewed their option.
-3-
\\
\\~
