Abstain: <br /> ,Secretary Harris reviewed the report <br /> explaining that it essentially had <br /> three authors - the staff; Patricia <br /> Corwin, Chairman of the Aesthetics <br /> Subcommittee; and Chuck Gielow, <br /> Chairman of the Traffic and Circula- <br /> tion Subcommittee. <br /> Mr. Bill Hirst, Chairman of the Re- <br /> vitalization Committee, was present <br /> sand publicly thanked and commended <br /> .those members of the Committee whose <br /> (names were listed in the report. <br /> 'He especially thanked the City Staff <br /> ,who spent much time in early meetings <br /> and for the preparation of this <br /> report . <br />i <br /> Mr. Hirst mentioned that the Com- <br /> mittee has to some extent taken a <br /> (different position regarding their <br /> recommendations on the BART route. <br /> They no longer feel that the so- <br /> 1called northern route is the only <br /> !feasible alternative. <br /> jChairman Pereira commended the Com- <br /> ~mittee and the staff on the report, <br /> Nand noted that without the partici- <br /> pation of the gene ral public and mem- <br /> ibers of the Downtown Revitalization <br /> 'Committee and Chamber of Commerce , <br /> the plan would not have proceeded <br /> 'to this point. <br /> -2- <br />~~» <br />~I~ j. <br />X ~ X j <br /> X <br />_, _. ._,.._.„T.._......... __. .._. _... .. _.. <br />
